He watched out over the city for a while longer before sighing. It would be nice if he could stay like this for a longer period of time. Maybe have some of those detectives try and figure out some of his miracles… But, alas, the moon was high and the day was almost over.

“Four, three, two… one. And with that, my job here is done…”

And with that, the white figure lifted his hat from his head and tossed it out into the open air, wig falling back in the wind, leaving only the mask on the thief’s face. Which a gloved hand slowly reached up to remove, looking at it for a moment before closing his eyes.

When they next opened, the brows soon furrowed in slight confusion. Kaito glanced down at the ground, eyes widening in surprise before he turned his gaze back to the mask. He could remember what had happened… but… for the most part, he really hadn’t been in control…. And just how had that happened in the first place?

…I think I’ll put this somewhere safe, and never touch it again… Possibly…

…What? Life’s no fun without a good scare, right?

Children were mostly back in their homes by now, an the people still out were mostly just teens and adults. Might have been a bit late to do this, but it shouldn’t change much. Just so long as it was still Halloween, the impression it’ll leave on people for the holiday should be just as great.

The masked man was high up yet again. Of course he would be. Both he and the thief liked high places, and the view was always better either way. And it was that view he wanted.

This would be much less enjoyable to watch from the ground below, after all.

So as he stood on skyscraper, looking over the still dark city, a whistle made it’s way past the mask, bringing up a veritable flock of doves, which was oh, so convenient. Made up somewhat for the lack of human assistants.

Ladies and gentleman, I do hope you’ll enjoy the show~”

A flick of the hand and they scattered, heaing to various parts of the city. It had taken quite some time to set up, but at least he’d be able to enjoy the show relatively soon…

Ah, there it goes~

Below, dark figures could be seen floating out if the alley ways and into the streets. Most of them above the heads of those walking, but a few low enough that one could mistake them for touching the ground. They were coming from many different directions and people were soon beggining to notice, many staring in shock, a few screaming and running into the nearest open door.

Such superstitious people~

It had been one thing that was in his knowledge that had seemed interesting to try. Especially on a night when monsters were supposed to be out and about. Another wave of the hand, a snap, and the city had some light once again… though it was only reds and blues, helping to cast dark shadows over th shapes and give an eerie glow to the procession.

And really, with all the various forms with horns and feathers, wings and scales, large and small waving about and inching along the path, making many move out from their path, it was like watching a group of ants get out of the way a trail of dark water.

A grin rose up behind the mask.

It had certainly been worth the effort to bring the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons to life, while he was in Japan…

He may have released the animals from various pet stores and some from a zoo… So if there’s talk of a tiger running around, it’s not a costume. It’s what happens when he gets bored. At least they’d managed to put out that fire in one of the stores he’d looked in and suddenly decided he wanted to practice breathing flame…

But minor chaos happenings aside, he’s a bit tired. And he’s just going to rest for a moment in the park. In a tree. Well, certainly much easier than a hotel, he’ll admit, but not quite as private… Oh well. He wouldn’t be here too long anyway.

Well, while he had the options open to him being an actual magician this time, he may as well use them~

Unfortunately, he was also limited in certain respects as well… Before, he’d had others to assist him; someone helping to plan all of the ‘miracles’… Now it was just himself, though it wasn’t too bad of a trade off…

The man spun around lightly on one foot, looking out over the city from his lovely view from the Touto Tower, humming to himself and spinning the cane around a hand.

“Of course the real fun will have to wait for tonight… but perhaps, a bit of a warning for what’s to come? He does like to leave calling cards, after all…”

The masked figure stilled the cane and held it out in front of him, end aimed out ahead before it swung to face the ground and was placed firmly and purposefully down with a clang. Slowly, all the lights on the tower flickered off, and a wave of blackness spread around the building as the other illuminations died down, until the only lights left were from the cars below and what little glow was coming up over the horizon.

The metal stick was taken back up and swung around the side until he held it between both hands, swiftly collapsing the cane to extend the cape into wings.

“Halloween is all about surprises, isn’t it?~” He commented, spreading the hands apart to let small business card sized papers flutter and get taken away by the wind to fall to the ground below. The only things on them being a picture of the Mask of Chaos that he wore and the words ‘Trick or Treat?’, ‘or’ being crossed out and replaced with ‘and’. After a moment of watching them descend, he crouched and easily jumped off the tower himself, circling some before pressing a button so that small cannons shot out from the very top of the building, spreading more of the cards in all directions. It wouldn’t cover all of Tokyo, of course, but they should still get people’s attention.

And then, with a grin forming behind the mask, he finally flew off. He only had one day, and he planned to make the most of it for now.

“Just in case you plan anything dangerous in your ‘miracles’, me and the Professor plan to stop it!” -Emmy Altava

“Only one of them was dangerous last time, Ms. Altava. Well, and that final puzzle I gave Layton, if you count that. And there’s no reason to do something like that here…. for now. Though I can’t say whether or not there could be property damage. You know how people can be when something comes in to disrupt their normal lives~”
