Kaito froze, eyes going wide the moment his gaze landed on the familiar male only a few feet away. He swallowed, thickly, fingers curling tight into the bottom of his own shirt as he tried, in vain, to fight the desperate urge washing over him in waves, stronger and more intense with each passing moment, but it was impossible.
It took him only a handful of steps to close the distance between them.
The thief hadn’t noticed his double at first, a little distracted with thoughts for a while. It wasn’t until he heard footsteps that he turned, smile soon forming when he saw the other.
..Though his counterpart seemed off in a way himself. Though, if he hadn’t seen it enough, it looked a little like embarrassment… …At what, seeing him?
He’s trying his best to fight off the fact that it’s warm where he is, and he’s try harder still to fight off the urge to relax and accept that this was going to be a thing for a little while.
“Watch the hair…” He grumbled, though he made no move to swat the thief’s face away.
“Haaaii…” Kid continued for a short time before moving his head onto the detective’s shoulder, lazily bringing one of the hands up to comb and straighten the slightly mussed hair.
Hakuba’s head snapped to the side with the force of impact, his hair falling in his face. He was quiet, just listening as Kuroba spoke, and all of it was true, every bit of it. Kuroba was important to him. But that was the problem, the teen had gotten under his skin, gotten past the walls he had built, had forced him to build new ones. No one was supposed to be able to get that far; no one. Least of all a thief, a thief who he couldn’t help but be fascinated with, who was Spiders target.
He brought a hand to his cheek and rubbed his with a shaky hand. He wasn’t angry, he was just tired, exhausted, there was something different about Kuroba today, a new variable he wasn’t ready to deal with. He should leave, he should move away, go home, or to class, or somewhere, just not be close to this new Kuroba. This new Kuroba was dangerous.
“I had two choices. I made my choice. This was the path I choose.”
“The path you chose is stupid. And if was the one you felt you had to choose, the other one probably sucks too. So…”
The magician crossed his arms and stared, looking rather unimpressed with the detective.
“Make a new one.”
If you read the rules and information of a rp page before interaction, can you reblog this, please? I want to see how many do.
SUNFLOWER: Gratitude VIOLET: Loyalty MIMOSA: Secret admirer ROSE (ORANGE): Fascination ROSE (RED): Love SYCAMORE: Curiosity
“And enjoy it I shall! ~”
Fingers singled out the roses and carefully lifted them from the bouquet.
“I take it that I can expect you at the next heist, then? I’ll look forward to it, tantei-kun~”
He flushed some and looked away, nodding a bit. He was glad he liked the flowers, to be honest, the nice lady at the flower shop had helped him with the meanings specifically. “You should probably expect me at most of them, now… I’m starting to need the guaranteed lack of blood at your heists.”
If he was a little more honest with himself, especially considering the message the flowers told, it was also because he liked the thief’s company and maybe hoped for a chance to get to know him a little better. But he was sure KID would understand anyway.
The thief’s smile fell slightly. He looked down at the flowers in his hand for a moment before placing them back with the others.
“Hmmm… perhaps I should schedule them more often…” he commented, moving his arms behind his back and leaning towards the detective, the smirk soon returning, “Or maybe just drop in every now and again? Wouldn’t want you to get overwhelmed with your work, meitantei~”
Though the last part was said teasingly, he really did mean it. He liked that Shinichi enjoyed coming, but he wished the detective didn’t have such a dark job that the heists were some of his only breaks from cases…
