“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say.” He didn’t particularly seem to care whether or not the other’s claim was actually true – just pleased with how things turned out. Another round was fine by him; it wasn’t like they had much better things to be doing, anyway…

“Think we should tweak the settings for the AI or no?” As in, make them harder. Just because.

“You can if you want.” Easier, harder, both would be likely to level the playing field. Didn’t even matter whether or not he beat the computers, his main goal was to beat his double right now. Then he’d essentially win. (…Well, ‘he’d’ win anyway, but going to ignore that thinking.)

whiteliesredeyes:

“You heard me, loser.” Obviously the words aren’t meant seriously, as there’s a friendly bump to his mirror image’s shoulder and a cheeky grin poised on his lips, but he’s probably just inviting some sort of retaliation.

Implications of calling someone with essentially the same skills as you a loser aside…

“I demand a rematch, the AI characters clearly had a grudge against mine that time,” he pouted. Was he a sore loser normally? …Well, yes, but it especially felt unfair when it hadn’t even been a close call.

“Still. We could just start from right here and see where the wind takes us.” Very serious discussions. Honor was a serious thing. Kaito was very much not a serious person, usually.

“Sure, maybe even head to a place we can get ‘quest information’, like the park. Question though.. if I get dishonour, does that technically mean you have it, too? Might be looking for a while.” Blasphemy.

Very valiant attempt on his part to conceal the amusement, too – so he defaulted to a flat look – before it turned thoughtful. “Dunno, but if I go with you, will I experience a life-changing field trip?”

image

“Hmm… I don’t know if I’d call it a field trip, since we don’t have a fun transforming bus or anything, but maybe? Seems like quests for honour do tend to be important. More important question would be where to start…” Only the most serious of discussions for these two.

“You’re the same age, so I don’t think that counts…”

“Hey, I’m just meeting his argument, so in this, I have no idea what you’re talking about, tantei-chan~”

(detectivebarou) Cone: “I’m sorry.”

“Well, since there’s not much that can be done about it, I suppose I can acept that apology. …But that doesn’t apply to my other selves, as I’m sure you know.”

(( … deltora quest rings a bell… squints. was that the thing with dragons and evil rock / egg / stone thingies that needed to be roasted? ))

(Well, Deltora Quest was more for a riddle I got another time, the one you gave was used in Heir Apparent (though I think it’s a common riddle, that’s just where I know it from).

And I… don’t think so… To be fair, it was in three series and I can’t quite remember the plot of Deltora Dragons off the top of my head, but I think? Deltora Quest was the main characters going to the different parts of the land to find the gems that go into a chain that held great power, though, each having a different ability. …And then there’s Deltora Shadowlands, which I remember not in the slightest. :V )
