Four (4) New Magic Tricks

And saying hello was something he appreciated, really. It was better than a lot of things.

“Hey, you never know. One day, our handwriting may just be worth millions of dollars. Not that money really shows something’s value, but if some dodgy billionaire wants to buy my signature someday, I’m not complaining.”

“Good point… Well, maybe not millions… But profit, yeah. Even better if the signature is from a certain thief, popular as that would be even now. “

Sigh. “One disadvantage to having too good of a memory for things you’re interested in… It hard to do the same thing more than once and not know all the answers and everything you need to do. Takes years for things to fade away enough to do some things with the same level of enjoyment instead of a rote ‘here to there‘ way of doing things sometimes. Not too bad for games that offer exploration, but it makes going through more linear games difficult to replay. Also I remember the answers to every single riddle asked before, and will recognise when someone asks me the same one. Sometimes ones asked to other people, if I’m paying attention. …And I’ll admit, a few that have been asked to me were ones I heard before. Probably a few years prior. Seriously, it’s ridiculous sometimes…”

KAITO! What’s one of your mun’s guilty pleasures?

“Hmm…. honestly, she’s rather boring in that regard. Doesn’t really feel guilty about all that much. At one point, that would have been being a fan of yaoi for her favourite characters, but obviously by now, she’s over it…. So I don’t think she has one, currently.

"…Wait. Possibly eating a whole package of mint chocolate cookies. Or chocolate in general. Not so much guilt in eating them, but she really doesn’t like that she has almost no restraint if she has access to sweets. Which is silly, because what she should feel more guilty about is the fact that she knows I can’t eat them myself…”

“Please don’t hate me.”

A look of guilt flashed through Kaito’s eyes and he turned away from the other, one hand crossing over the magicians chest to grab the other arm. He was also… a bit surprised. When Hakuba had called him up here, he’d been expecting the other to say something else. Not sure what, but that certainly hadn’t been it.

“…Jeeze, I don’t hate you. If anything, I hate myself… I shouldn’t have pushed you so much…”

At least Hakuba’s darker nature had to be triggered. He still didn’t know what had caused his own change…

“So… don’t worry about it.”

“Well, since I’m quite sure I’m not standing in front of a mirror, it seems to be the only possible explanation. Unless you’re another robot, of course.”

“If I were a robot, I don’t think I’d have started with idle conversation, if the last one was anything to go by…”
