The water ran hot, near scalding, and fogged the room up completely on top of threatening to turn Shinichi’s skin bright red. It had been a long, tiring day of multiple murder cases and he was so tired of smelling of blood. A long, tired sigh left the detective and he tilted his head back to let the hot water soothe his muscles.

That was until the curtain was drawn back and some one was slipping into the shower behind him. Startled he turned around and let out a noise of surprise (which sounded like an awkward duck squawk). “O-oi! What in the world are you doing, you stupid thief?”

He blushed some, staring at the wet clothed thief before sighing. “Are you going to need some dry clothes after this?” Why he opted to remain dressed he didn’t know but in some ways he preferred it. Though honestly he would have rather they both be naked so he wasn’t the only one.

The smirk only darkened his flush but that also could have something to do with how hot the water was as well. After all he seemed to be trying to boil his skin off before the thief joined him. “I… would appreciate the help with my back though, I guess..”

Kid grinned when it seemed Shinichi accepted his offer, and he looked around for a washcloth.

“I still have a change of clothes in my jacket somewhere, so don’t worry about that. Just would have to borrow one of your towels to dry off with.”

And in regards to the clothes he currently wore… well, he might feel comfortable enough around the detective to stop by and visit without warning, and apparently even go so far as to interrupt him in the shower without getting uneasy… Being completely exposed didn’t sound so comfortable. At least, not like this, when Shinichi might have kicked him out – and had the right to, this being his house. Far safer to step in clothed with that possibility than to not. Though he may be starting to regret it… Even if the water didn’t actually bother him, the heat became trapped… Not that Kid would let that discomfort show.

britishhsdetectivehakuba:

Hakuba had been a little bit late to the show this time.

It had happened once before, that time due to traffic, this time was due to him getting wrapped up in a few things at his lab. He had lost track of time, which was unusual for him, and happened to arrive a bit late. He had seen signs that Spider had been there when he arrived, and was making his way to the roof as quick as he could.

image

He was running up the stairs as fast as his legs would go, taking the steps two at a time. He threw open the door leading out to the rooftop and relief washed over him as he spotted KID, who seemed unharmed. He placed his hand against a wall to catch his breath but looked up quickly as the thief started to talk.

At first he was a little bit confused, and his brows furrowed together as he tried to make sense of what KID was saying, but as he continued it started to dawn on him. He blinked, taken back by the thief’s words of concern. It was true, he had been hunting Spider much longer then he had KID, in fact he wasn’t even really hunting KID. KID was just Spider’s prey, and so it made sense for him to stick around.

At least that was how it had been in the beginning.

The last words out of the Thief’s mouth caused Hakuba to suck in a breath, eyes going wide. He was taken back by those words, and Hakuba could tell they were sincere. There was no trace of the Thief’s usual teasing manner, this was heartfelt and true. He actually took a step back, not really knowing what to do with the feelings welling in his chest.

Panic, fear, joy, longing, sadness…

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, taking control of himself once more, letting his face go neutral once more. He’d often wondered what KID thought of him, and had sometimes let fantasies of the thief liking him, like some of the fan fiction he’d read, but he’d never go farther then that. Mixing business with pleasure never ended well for anyone, and KID was a thief. He couldn’t let his emotions cloud his judgement.

image

“I’m surprised. I never thought you’d feel that way about me Kaito KID. But flattery will get you no where.”

…Of course the detective would just be his usual proud self. He didn’t know what he’d been expecting. Just… the thief was concerned. Just the few times Hakuba had been involved when Spider tried going after him… While the other saved him the first encounter with the assassin… The man had gone right around and taken Hakuba off guard…

Kid turned, throwing a small smile back at the detective as the diamond of tonight’s heist was casually tossed into the air and lightly caught  between gloved fingers. The show of ease was fake, of course, but he’d already gotten what he’d wanted off of his chest. If the other was just going to let it fall and be ignored… well… fine. Just fall back into the normal routine.

“…No, I suppose it won’t, will it?”

The thief slid the unoccupied hand into his pocket as he turned the jewel over, pretending to be examining it while he pushed the thoughts of worry aside for the moment. Then he tossed it up again and held it up, head turned towards the other, usual confident mask back in place.

“But really detective, if you’re going to show up, at least be on time. That’s your specialty, isn’t it?~” And now he looked up at the clear gem, and the moon framing it, absently twisting it a little more before bringing it down some and curling the fingers around the stone.

“Though, I suppose while you’re here…” With only a smirk as warning, he tossed the gem at the detective. “Could you take that back to Nakamori-keibu for me?~”

  • 6th Person gets: Chained to my muse for three days

Hakuba wasn’t sure how they ended up like this. The last thing he remembered was falling asleep in his bed  He knew that he had fallen asleep there, he remembered setting his alarm for school the next day. He also wrote a memo to himself, to remind himself to hit the lab to look up a few things that had been bugging him.

image

Hakuba had then woken up somewhere, what looked to be a hotel room, feeling groggy. It almost felt like a hang over – he’d only even had one hang over in his whole life, but he never wanted one again. His eyes were crusted with sleep, his head was throbbing and his tongue was as dry as sand paper.

That was when he noticed the chain and shackle, a shackle that seemed to have no opening. And the person he was shackled too, who seemed to be sleeping, blissfully unaware of their situation.

Kuroba Kaito.

It… probably hadn’t been the best idea to the out so late. Really, after that time he was kidnapped by that crazy robot-maker, one would think the magician would be a lot more cautious of being out alone at all.

But he liked being out, and night was always peaceful. Crowds and light were great of course, but a part of him did like the cooler, quieter time after the sun had dipped below the horizon and the moon looked down instead, especially the closer it got to a heist. Definitely the thief part of him there, though it had been true even before he’d taken up the mantle. It had just become a more prevalent habit afterward. Wasn’t like he expected many random people to just up and knock him over the head all the time. Weren’t there supposed to be reports when that sort of thing was going on, or did all of his luck go into everything other than keeping him out of dangerous situations in the first place?

…Regardless, Kaito didn’t exactly have much of a chance to fight back when an arm suddenly reached from behind him out of nowhere and snaked around his shoulders to pull him back, another coming around to press a cloth to his face. Instantly, his eyes went wide and he instinctively took a breath at being caught off guard… which he instantly regretted as he got a small lungful of something cold and sickeningly sweet smelling, immediately leaving him dizzy with spots dancing in his vision, his efforts to pull the arm away and get free weaker. The brunet still tried to struggle, not breathe in any more, but as unprepared as he was, and already having taken in some of it, he didn’t last long, arms going slack as his eyelids fell and darkness overtook him.

~

When consciousness started coming back, the teen almost wanted to just go back to sleep. His head was aching and a wave of nausea passed through him as he shifted, a hoarse groan coming from his throat. Ow… Getting whacked over the head was almost more preferable than this

He frowned as the memories of what had happened slowly came back, and he had to resist the urge to panic and immediately jolt up and assess what had happened as a spike of adrenaline shot through him when he realised he’d been drugged and was likely not somewhere he knew. Definitely wouldn’t be smart right now… A small, sluggish check to see if he could move his arms and legs told him that he wasn’t tied up, at least.

…For the most part.

The magician slowly slowly blinked his eyes open to check the unexpected weight and uncomfortable feel of metal, but froze when he noticed that there was another person. An unexpectedly very familiar person.

“…‘akuba…?”

The voice was uncharacteristically scratchy for the brunet as he did try and sit up now, another small groan sounding before he shut his eyes again and laid back down. Yeah. Best not to get up. At least not until he felt like he could do it without wanting to vomit.

❣ (Sorry, the KaiShin shipper in me couldn’t resist)

He knew he shouldn’t be there in his current condition, face seemingly permanently stained red and he hoped he could lie convincingly enough to the thief he asked. He couldn’t help that his hormones had been going a little more haywire then usual, a side effect from the Apotoxin Haibara had told him. This really was the worst time to come to a KID heist.

Maybe he should go, he could likely leave before KID showed up since he seemed to be having fun toying with the Task Force. Turning to go with that decision in mind, he hoped maybe he could actually leave before the thief showed up and he’d have to try and explain his fevered look and uh… physical evidence to what exactly was wrong with the detective.

“I should have never promised I’d try to make it to all of his heists,” he murmured to himself.

He hadn’t meant to worry, but certainly the thief understood why it was so hard for him to mention his problem! Words weren’t Shinichi’s strong suit outside of cases to begin with, but he was expecting him to mention what was wrong with him?

And suddenly every nerve was on edge at the feeling of KID’s hand moving from his back to hover over him, eyes moving from the thief’s face to track his hand. Oh god, what was he up to? Swallowing thickly, he couldn’t help but to moan at the trailing finger, knees threatening to give out on him.

So maybe he was worse off then he previously though. “I-I am,” he grit out though he wasn’t convincing at all.

“Hmm…”

Yeah, the detective really wasn’t convincing Kid of anything more than that extra teasing clearly needed to be done, a wide smile coming up at the other’s moan. Expecting Shinichi to announce this problem, no, but he could have tried coming up with a better excuse when it was clear the thief had no intention of letting him just walk away after noticing something was wrong.

“Well, unless you want your definition of ‘fine’ to be noticed by the others inside, it might be a good idea to take care of it now,” he commented, starting to lightly rub up and down the area with the same finger as he leaned forward to hover over the other’s shoulder and speak by the detective’s ear.

“It’s not as dark in there as it is out here, you know…”

(Okay, you people in the inbox I’ll get to, don’t worry. And replies from recent things as well. But I should say I won’t post anything until Saturday, with one exception on Spider’s blog in a mo. And a reblog. But I’m clearly not gettin’ through my drafts like I want, so on that day, I’ll post the ones I have gotten done over the course of trying to work on them along with the more recent threads. …Which isn’t as much as I’d like… I’ve definitely not been as focused as I want to be. …And still haven’t fixed my sleep schedule, because cold just makes me want to stay in bed up until I have to actually leave for work… Well, I try. And then get other ideas to do. And then watch videos because I can’t write and eat something at the same time, apparently… So, yeah, small heads up.)

He had agreed to it, but he had gone in thinking
that he had heard enough riddles in his life
to safely sale through the challenge. Sadly,
   he was wrong.

Feeling the thief approach, Conan attempted to
back away as quickly as he could without
falling flat on his behind. That grin — ugh,
that grin. He wanted so badly to swipe it
off his cocky face, but there was very little
he could do when blanked with his stark-
   white cape.

Oi!” Pushing up the brim and looking up, he
was distracted by the rustling and sudden
remove of the cape. There was no way he
could have been wiggled into a matching
suit of his own size in so little ————

                                                                          ———— time!

Choking and sputtering, the boy was horrified
to find himself wearing the exact same costume —
the tie, the shoes, the clean suit. Even the
monocle sat neatly above his loathsome scowl.
And as fitting and comfortable as it was, he was
peeve to know that he thief had gotten him into
it without so much as a complaint from him.

Where the hell are my clothes?!

“Don’t worry, your stuff’s safe~ You’ll get them back later.”

Don’t mind how gleeful he is right now, just hoping the other doesn’t focus too much on the shoe change. The watch doesn’t mess with the outfit, so tantei-kun had some protection, if he needed it, and he even left the voice changer in a pocket and the belt as it was, but no electric-powered soccer balls for an irritated chibi~

…Yeah, most of his amusement came from the other’s reaction, though. Very much worth the possible harm later to see this now~

“Hmm… it’s almost like looking in a younger, irritated mirror. You should smile, tantei-kun~ You’re already dressed up, so you may as well have fun with it. It’d help with the image better, too~”
