Saguru?

Kaito immediately jumped off the bed, a tiny thump sounding when he hit the floor, and ran to the front of the house. He’d been getting worried since he’d gotten back from the heist, since his detective needed to take care of some work afterward. Didn’t help when he had troubles like this…

But it didn’t matter, he’d returned, if the front door opening gave any indication. And Kaito’s just going to run up and start rubbing against his leg, worry about being a cat momentarily pushed aside from being happy to see his detective.

image

Hakuba smiled as he continues to give him scratches before petting him, from head to tail. He looked over at the supplies, which he would set up in his room. He moved so Kaito was being held with one hand and grabbed the bags, heading upstairs. “It seems you haven’t lost your affection.” He chuckled softly, using his elbow and hip to open the door.

Once inside he dropped the bags down and closed the door behind him, sitting on his bed.

“You missed me then?”

Kaito kept purring and nuzzling, though his eyes widened as he was carried. He’s quickly coming to figure out why many cats don’t like to be held, because, aside from manhandling in general, it does feel strange to not have much stability.

But he got used to it, shifting a little to get more comfortable as they went to the room, nuzzling some again at the affection comment. Nope, haven’t lost that at all~

Once Saguru sat down, Kaito nodded and meowed before moving to rub his head against his detective’s chest. He’d envied cats a bit for being so laid back and without too many worries, but it wasn’t too much fun to be one after being human. Size change, hard to do anything with no hands, and just everything felt so different, for all that it was the same place.

Yes, he missed his detective. Comfort, safety, trust, and he just loved the other so much for being here.

  • 16. One thing that draws you to a character to make you want to roleplay WITH them (as your partner’s character)?
  • (Character-wise, I’m not really all that picky about who I’ll RP with. Now, some things may wear on my nerves writing-wise, depending, but it hasn’t really been an issue. Obviously, I’m more drawn to characters I know myself, but beyond that… Not really? Exciting, thought-provoking, or along the more mundane… The characters themselves really don’t have exact parts I can pick out that would make me want to RP with them over someone else. Though Kai’s interest kinda determines how often anything will progress.)

  • 2. A question you’re surprised no one has asked.
  • (…

Oh, jeeze. I have to think of the question that other people should have asked? Ummm… Most things related to Spider on his blog, really. I know I talk with the Hakuba RPers quite a bit about him, but I don’t mind answering things about the guy OOCly, since it’s difficult to go into his whole backstory I have for him, why he is how he is, experience with Toichi, without prompts to do so. Is why I reblog headcanon things there, though that’s also to build more for him there as well. Just kinda want more people to know him outside of how he acts with Sugaru and simultaneously chatting with and scaring the Kaito(u)s.

For Kai though… Really, just anything about how he acts, I guess. For canon or my Kaito. Also partially extends to the phobia thing. Never been asked, never had to decide on anything. I tend to post things myself on how he thinks, so I’m not too surprised there, but I’d love some questions to ask about canon more. I even reblogged a meme for that, but I didn’t get too much with that… Really, one of the funnest things for me is to have my own version of the character that still has reason for all of his actions in canon or non-canon movies and OVAs and such. *glances at that movie 10 Hakuba disguise posting* I don’t know, I just really like those and tend to be surprised when no one even takes the opportunity to ask more about it. Some do, but not to any great extent. Though I also dare you people to ask how stable my Kaito is, hehehe…. *hides*)

    10. One bad part of writing in general?

(Not just writing, but most forms of art in general would be wondering how other people see it. Most readers are fine with how things are written, whether with flowy paragraphs with good description and structure, or just ‘point a to point b’ type of writing, but wanting to know what people really think about what’s being shown, praise or criticism, is something I’ve noticed a lot. It tends to drive stress because, while writing and such is fun, rarely does anyone not care what others think about how they’re doing. For me, I’m laid back enough to not worry too often, but as I’ve written fanfiction before, and done other forms of art like drawing and editing pictures and making amvs, I know I’ve constantly checked to see how many views something got, what people review and comment, and it’s just a worry I wish didn’t exist, but am accepting of the fact it does. It happens to everyone, and I’m sad when it gets the better of people to take the fun away from what they liked doing when people’s opinions drive a decision. Forms of art are very dangerous to the mind in this kind of way, if people genuinely like doing it.)

    1. A headcanon you’re not sure of yet.

    image

(Hmm… That’s a bit hard, since most of my headcanons are made up at random, and I generally approve of them immediately… Hmm… Honestly, my biggest headcanon I have involves Toichi’s last show, which of course is never set in stone for any Kaito, really. Never going to accept what the new anime showed for it, since aside from Spider interactions and discussions, I do tend to fall back on manga interpretations. I mean, I’d like to do my ramble on that eventually, maybe tonight since  I’m already thinking about it, but I guess in general… Oh. Pffft. How he got his fear of fish. It would be a quick and random thing to come up with, since phobias actually don’t need much to be built, but nothing’s ever stuck out to me out of my ideas that I approved of.)

    15. One thing that draws you to a character to want to roleplay them?

    image

(Ah… I’ve actually thought about this one before, because of ‘who I liked vs who I’d want to RP’ in the Professor Layton games. Aside from ‘they have to catch my interest’, really, it’d have to be… well, psychological side of me says mentality. But it’s only part of it. Like, I play Kai, but wouldn’t play Shinichi/Conan, even if they could have similar ways of thinking due to circumstances. And I have nothing against Shinichi. For PL, I like Randall, Descole, and Clive, but would only play Descole, even if Randall is actually very similar to Kai in many ways. Well, I did play the Masked Gentleman of sorts on Halloween, but that’s the thing… Even back before when I was only considering RP, I knew MG was one I could play, but Randall wasn’t. I don’t know… A lot of things go into who I’d Rp I guess, including unanswered questions about the character, interest in how they think, having a lot of ‘what ifs’ for the character, and… well, probably that they’re in the grey area of morality, to an extent. Characters up for interpretation that no one knows everything about, even if they know the character themselves. And in most ways, Kai and Spider are opposites. One’s a popular character everyone knows, one’s a non-canon but still official MK character that’s just a huge mystery. But for all his fans, not everyone actually looks into Kaito beyond the fun, so that’s why I like him especially.

…To sum up, I believe I like to play characters that make me think and wonder things about them.)

    17. A character trait you think is overused?

    image

(There… well, there are quite a lot of those… And as many good writers and characters I’ve seen, those don’t always intersect… I mean, if I look at a list, one that comes to mind that I don’t consider is stubbornness. But that’s more of a general person thing, not a character trait to really pick on… A lot of people will have a stubborn streak at times… Maybe just angstiness? Not that I don’t enjoy it, but reading manga and such, and though I’ve fallen out of reading actual books right now, I’ve read far more than enough to notice that almost all important characters have to go through some sort of angsty phase, or just be like that in general. It’s mostly due to the fact writers like to have things happen either in the past or present that can make a character more interesting. Better written characters get past it fairly well, but people tend to like ones that don’t, and looking at broody characters can only be interesting so many times before it gets old. All interesting characters have bad moments, but the best ones manage through it, in all honesty. Ones that don’t, *looks at Sasuke from Naruto and so many other action shonen anime, and quite a few from shoujo and other types as well*, …eh, they tend to get on my nerves a bit. Would try to think of more TV and books type things, but manga what I gravitate towards first, so… *shrugs* Angst is fine, but jeeze, moderate if you want to hold more people’s attention.)

    {That Aoko is so much cuter, and she’s a detective!}

(Yep~ I do think I like proto-Aoko better in comparison to the MK one as opposed to the Kaitos. Just a bit. She seemed a lot more interesting. *whispers about how the alternate timeline for her being a detective and such is affected by her not seeming to have a mother in MK, and how Kid might not exist in that world completely, which is also why Ginzo is nicer and generally more laid back, and why her mom is still there. No Kid to chase constantly*

(Talking of over-thinking, though… How many of you noticed I used the prototype Kaito in this post? Or knew of him? I’m sure many who’ve looked into MK have, but I included him there for a reason. Obviously, his story was from a one shot, but since he, Aoko, and Ginzo exist in it, what if… if could be an alternate timeline? Not just one without Kid – if you wanted him to not exist at all, though it is possible, though Kaito himself isn’t the thief – but… well, Toichi is alive? I mean… Aoko’s mom exists in the story, for one. And she clearly doesn’t in Magic Kaito. Kaito isn’t a jewel thief, just a general troublemaker magician, acting like a jerk even more than in MK, but still has a gentle heart, for the most part. Just for that, I wonder if Toichi exists for that Kaito, whether he’s Kid or not. Either that or he lives alone entirely. I know Lupin’s story isn’t technically supposed to be connected to MK directly, but it’s interesting to think about. Alternate timeline or something a bit further than just the parallel universes the other Kaito’s fall into for RP.)

    7. Formatting or no and why?

    image

(I don’t format usually. Mostly because I take long enough to reply without having to mess with how it looks. But I don’t mind other people formatting. It does look nice, but laziness takes over for me, so…)

    14. How do you keep your blog organized?

    image

(Wait, we’re supposed to keep it organised?

Well, I mostly just keep it to who I’m replying to for tags right now, with the occasional status thrown in like for KittyKai and ChibiKai. So mostly just random tags… Though I really should title everything to help others keep track of threads we have. I have an insane memory at times, so I tend to know what has and hasn’t been done myself. But yeah, not the most organised, just rper tags, ooc tags, ones for talking about the anime and for icons and such.)

    20. Something your character doesn’t know but you do and how this effects how you roleplay them.

    image

(Ooo… Now this is a fun one… I mean, aside from about other characters in general, knowing things from anime and people’s about pages that Kai won’t necessarily learn until he’s told in threads and such… Outside of the people he meets, I don’t know too much he doesn’t, and he usually knows more than me, actually… I have general knowledge of a lot of things, but nothing specific that affects how I play Kai in RP. The only thing that might count would be knowing his mentality, but it’s not so much he couldn’t know so much as he tries not to think about it. I think too much about things, and if he looked at himself as much as I’ve looked at him… He’d probably be a lot more depressed or unstable. Or both. Basically, I know him more than he want to know himself, but I think that’s true of a lot of characters and people in general. It’s not exactly the same, but it does still affect my RPing in many ways. Basically, I think more psychologically, even if I haven’t been taught everything regarding it, about… well, a lot. Not just characters. It carries over into my Kai, because he does think and consider how to get the reactions he wants or tests for, but… Well, basically it still comes back to characters, more than random general knowledge on something. I tend to know more about them than him, even if it’s my muse himself, weaknesses, mentality, and such. Past that… I’m really not sure. Nothing that noticeably affects how I play him, that I’m aware of…)

    “Where were you?!”

    themoonlightthief:

    themoonlightthief:

My muse has been missing for several days. Send “Where were you?!?” For mine to suddenly show up at your muse’s doorstep, in rough shape.

Kaito flinched, just barely managing to stop himself from taking a step back, his gaze shamefully, guiltily, darting off to the side and towards the ground. Maybe this had been a bad idea after all. He knew there would be questions – of course there would be – but he’d hoped against hope and prayed that his other self would, at the very least…

…He wasn’t quite sure how to finish that. And, in all honesty, it didn’t really matter at the moment anyway, did it?

Swallowing thickly, he opened his mouth, then closed it again, hesitating, before glancing back up towards the thief again. And the expression that met Kaito only made the guilt and utter selfloathing grow to the point that he felt like he might just throw up.

    “Ah, I…”

A thin, weary smile curved at the corners of his lips and a bloody hand selfconsciously tugged the equally bloody and dirty sleeve down his other arm and Kaito chuckled, quietly, tired indigo eyes flickering away once more.

“I went to buy chocolate and got lost on the way home…?”

Though the magician found himself unsconsciously stiffening at the offer, there was also the barest sound of a laugh, quiet and soft – but it was there. He followed the thief inside and shot him another glance, smile stretching just the tiniest bit wider.

    image

    “M-maybe. I’ll think about it.”

Though he wanted to tell his counterpart the truth, talking was more difficult than he’d ever imagined it would be and, perhaps, showing him would be easier, but…

Indigo eyes scanned the entryway, before they darted back up towards the thief again. They were the same, but at the same time they weren’t and maybe that’s what made him feel so conflicted, but this wasn’t the time, and Kaito merely took a breath, awkwardly raked a hand through his hair, before moving further into the house.

“I’ll…be right back then. With clothes. …Thank you.”

Kid hummed. …Better than what happened last time, at least. So long as he could get the other to relax after being gone the past few days, he didn’t entirely need an explanation, unless the magician felt like telling. So he just kept the smile and took a little bow.

    “You’re welcome, magician-kun~”

There’s a slight pause before the thief goes to keep his promise on starting the water for the other, glancing back out of the corner of his eye as he went.

    “Where were you?!”

    themoonlightthief:

“I went to buy chocolate and got lost on the way home…?”

He stiffened, the gentle embrace catching him by surprise, and for a few seconds he’s not entirely sure what to do, arms hovering uncertainly around his counterpart, before slowly settling around him. He’d missed this. Another person’s body, solid and warm, pressed against his in a way that felt comfortable, gentle and soothing and Kaito squeezed his eyes shut, shoving thoughts of dirty filthy unworthy slut to the depths of his mind, arms momentarily tightening around the thief.

The fact that the other didn’t question him further about what had happened made Kaito’s shoulders relax ever so slightly in relief, part of the previous tension slipping away.

…It didn’t make the guilt lessen any, though.

    image

God knew he wanted – needed – to tell his double the truth, but the fear of what he might say, what he might do, if he found out—

Kaito gave an internal shake of his head and offered the thief a small smile in return, more genuine and warm than the one he’d given him before. Those weren’t things he wanted to think about right now. No, right now, he just wanted to focus on how good it felt to acually be back, contrary to what he’d felt the day he decided to run away.

    “…Thanks.”

He paused, arms sliding away from the thief and falling back against his sides, fingers nervously picking at a loose thread at the hem of his shirt. It really was filthy, dirty, bloody, and he wasn’t any better, was he?

“I, uh…” His expression turned the slightest bit sheepish, hopeful and grateful. “…I guess a shower would be nice?”

The smile grew wider as the magician returned the hug and relaxed a little. It might not be much, but at least that told him he’d been right not to push. Kid showed a more full smile and took a few steps further in, though didn’t completely let go of his double as he did.

“Well, the least I can do is start it while you get some clothes, then. Maybe offer some company in there while I’m at it?~” A slight tease, as he usually does with offers like that, but not as much as normal. The thief definitely wouldn’t mind joining his other self right now, though half doubts the other would say okay at this time.
