It was only meant to be a joke, a prank, a little bit of payback, if you will, to turn their little game of tag up a notch.

Kaito hadn’t quite expected the thief’s skin to be so soft, though, and it had fascinated him in ways that he was not comfortable talking about out loud. It was bad enough that he enjoyed their little kisses a bit more than what was most likely considered appropriate and he did not want to think about the possible narcissistic implications this—

The feeling of a hand in his hair made the magician’s thoughts come to an abrupt halt. He released an almost shaky breath, the warm air washing over the skin of his other self’s neck, and Kaito swallowed, thickly, face turning burning hot in embarrassment and realization of what he’d just done.

…It didn’t stop him from brushing his lips against the thief’s neck one final time, though, teeth nipping lightly, just a little playfully, before Kaito pulled back with a small and utterly flustered grin.

“S-sorry,” he chuckled quietly, unable to meet his other self’s eyes. “Would you believe me if I told you our witchly friend put a spell on me?”

“A-as-” Oh kami, the magician wasn’t the only one flustered right now. Kid started blushing soon after the other even got so close as to reach his neck, though it had just been a light flush.

Which had steadily grown darker.

Small kisses and the games they had were one thing, but his double had caught him off guard with this, because, ah… Just what had brought this on? Was this supposed to be another one one their games, should he do something back, pull closer because it felt nice, push the other away before he gets way too flustered- no, wait, probably is already…

And in all that mental chaos the thief went sorting though, he’d interrupted his doppelganger by absently bringing a hand up to do something… which apparently meant running his fingers though the other’s hair. Okay, that was something, yes. And it got the magician to stop, for the most part, the reaction telling that this hadn’t been the most intentional… but definitely not under control of a spell, if those last actions that caused the thief to take a sudden breath were anything to go by…

Kid took a more controlled breath before trying to speak again, resisting the urge to touch the area the magician had left, and noticed his hand still where it had been. A pause, then he ran it back though his counterpart’s unruly hair once more before pulling it away, glancing at the other’s face before looking off to the side, cheeks still very much dark.

“…As easy as that would be to say yes to, somehow, I don’t believe she’d make you do that all of the sudden…” And not looking him the eyes was a pretty good indicator of a lie. Or way too embarrassed, which was an option, but still more likely their ‘witchly friend’ hadn’t been involved.

Another glance and, well, if both of them were like this, trying to get the other back really was the first action to come to mind to make Kid feel like he could do something after that, so he ignored his red face to smile and lean forward.

“…Unless, of course, you would believe the same if I were to do the same~”
