raifuujin:

I just… wow. I get annoyed at small things in the tags from time to time, but brush it off pretty easily. But for some reason, it’s too much when people don’t like Akako because ‘magic doesn’t work with logic’.

You know what, that’s probably why she hasn’t been shown using that magic outside of her original appearances in the manga. Because, guess what, a series called Magic Kaito wasn’t too focused on that little thing called logic. And it’s not right to complain because of Conan’s logic, because she’s never done anything outside of an OVA that was brushed off as a dream.

Magic Kaito’s already been changed enough in making it more like DC, don’t entirely get rid of what charm it had by making it entirely the same but from Kaito’s POV. Akako’s a fun character, she’s not used much aside from ‘I have a feeling something bad will happen’ nowadays, and I don’t appreciate her being written off by those only interested in Conan’s side of the universe. She came before him, just like Kaito did.

( If you want to protect your ‘logic’, try this idea. Magic Kaito came before Detective Conan. What came before that? Yaiba. About a boy samurai fighting demons. Do I hear a ‘but that has nothing to do with this’? In Yaiba, they mention a ‘Kuroba-kun and Nakamori-san’ are dating. In Magic Kaito, that throwaway dream of OVA 1 where Kaito is stealing a sword from Yaiba’s household actually happened, minus Conan shenanigans because it was a purely Magic Kaito chapter. And since Kaito cameos in DC, clearly all of these are connected, and therefore the demons and magic from the previous works exist hidden somewhere in Conan’s world. Because all works by the author that are connected must have the same logic and inner world workings, yes. )

Fun fact:

In the manga, Kaito knowingly walked into a seafood restaurant, and is fine with eating lobster. Don’t be surprised by the girl eating fish in a seafood place, Kaito, really…

The specials kept the sign.

But it looks like they gave Kaito steak or such instead. Possibly to separate Kaito from eating things from the water.

The anime entirely omitted the fact it’s a seafood restaurant, and I have noidea what they decided to have Kaito order. They also downgraded the sides and drink quality, which makes me think they opted to make it a more casual place to eat. …And they decided to put roses on the table, interesting, especially when they make Kaito’s and Aoko’s yellow. Leads to interpretations more than if they’d had all the roses red.
